Challenges
In the working process we faced many challenges
 In the shaft of the first floor left apartment, in the bathroom we discovered that the
shaft is full of garbage and the window was blocked, we removed and cleaned the
shaft.
 The workers made some accidental damages, when the workers removed the old
wood cabined they throw them on the back side of the building and they hit a pipe
caused a leakage
 After entering the apartment with the workers, the residents asked the workers for
more work that are not included; we managed to do what they asked without
exciding the budget.
 In the second floor left apartment, we faced a challenge with the electrical work,
since the children have school so we had to provide the WIFI router with external
electricity, because while working on the electrical part we had to cut off the
electricity supply. Also we had to cover the electrical switches before the paint since
they have a child in the house.
 In the fourth floor right apartment, one of the residents is an elderly lady, so we
challenged the workers to work full power to finish installation of exteriors doors
and windows and to finish the bathroom in a short period.
 Due to the rain we discovered in the right apartments increase moisture in the
ceiling so we had to isolate the external wall from the roof of the next building.
 At the beginning we face a challenge with the residents since the winter has come
many of them didn’t lets us do the renovation work, but we managed to inform
them that we will do the work as fast as possible.
 In the third right apartment they didn’t let us work because they have a pregnant
women and the paint will affect her badly.
 In the stairs we will add curtains since the stairs is wide open and the rain will affect
the paint and will cause moisture
Site visit
On Thursday 10 December 20202 we scheduled a site visit with Oxfam team to see
the work how is going
Also in this site visit we mentioned that with the remaining money we will do
renovation work in the areas that we did not give the priority before, and those
areas are:
 In the stairs before we planned to add curtains only to protect the stairs
from the rain but now we are planning the close the open area with
aluminum and glass.
 To maintain the main entrance doors of the building
 To add an outdoor metal stairs to use it to go up to the roof since they are
using a wood ladder and it is not safe
 To install electrical ballcock valve in the tanks at the roof to stop the leakage
of water to the roof.
 to fix the four windows in the basement
 to add a curtain in the common area at the 4th floor
 if possible to provide furniture
We are in the process of studding the budget for this work
